Discover and Define

Hi there, the last classes we have been working on Khan academy. There was a game that consisted in solving a mystery with some clues. Now we are going to tell you only wich problem has each clue and how to solve them.

Hi there! The last classes of nticx we have been working on the main topic " Cryptography". That is why we started playing a really interesting game. The game consists in solving some clues and find the solution to the problem. Cryptography and the game are connected because for solving many of the clues you have  to decode a encrypted note for example. That is how you will find the solutions to each clue , there are different codes you have to learn. We are allowed to play the game in teams of two or three members like mine. The dinamic of this game really opens your mind. Here we will tell you which ways we used to solve the clues.

Clue 1:

The problem here is that the note is written with a code. Also the letters weren't so clear , for example It's very difficult to separate the n's from the h's. There are no dots or comas , so we It's not easy to separate  the sentences and words. And there are two notes with two different codes, so if you solve the firs , It doesn't mean you have already the two solved.

To solve this problem we watched a video that explained how the Ceasar Cipher worked. This was the code in which the two letters were written. Also to make faster the process we used a programm called Ceasar Cipher simulator.

Clue 2 :

The problem is again that the message is written in a code , but different to the one of the first clue.

To solve this problem we need to find the key word, and change every letter of the key word for a number in each letter. The numbers must be in the same order, It doesn't matter how short or long the word is.

 Clue 3 :

The problem here is that the message that you found in the train rails  is written in numbers instead of letters like the first 2 clues. This new different code hasn´t dots or comas , so you also have to guess the separation of the words and sentences. And the most important part about this clue is that is not complete , a part of the paper is broken and that broken piece is the other part of the clue that is left.

To solve the problem we need to  watch a video about visual telegraphs to help us  solve the message. The video explains how people communicated through the ages with visual signals. Like the greeks that used fire to send quick messages. And later people started messages without the danger of the enemy knowing what that message meant. In the video they show you how every letter has a sequence of numbers which helps you to figure out the note.

Here is a video about Caesar Cipher:

Last time in class we played a game called Cryptography challenge 101,this game was on the khan academybasicly we had to decipher some funnie cryptographic games, this were very dificult but with some tracks and videos we could decipher the clues. First it was given some cards with something written on it but it was written in some kind of code, so we had to descipher this code but it was so difficult so we needed some tracks like videos and that helped us to discover the encrypted code, to do this we needed the help of a sort of machine that gave us what text encrypted code says once resolved the code.

Hi, this weeks we have been working in a project on Khan Academy. It consists in solving many problems and they gave you clues. The game helps you opening your mind and having new ideas. In this blog we are going to tell you the problems of the letters in the games and how could you fix them.

Clue 1

What we used to figure out the code was a programm called Cesar Cipher, and consist to find the most used letter and replace it with A.
We could found the secret message of the second paper, the answer is the following: start I grabbed everything I could find please return any blueprints for vault and alarm design based on which bank you decide on I am setting up safe house co.
We couldnt discover where the dots and commas were. Can you help us?

Clue 2

The solution that we found for this probles is the following: You need to find the key word, and change every letter of the key word for a number each letter. The numbers must be in the same order, dosnt matter how short or longer the word is.

Clue 3

The solution is the following: In Khan Academy you can watch a video about visual telegraphs to help you solve the message. The video explains how people communicated through the ages with visual signals. For example the greeks used fire to send quick messages. And later people started messages without the danger of the enemy knowing what that message meant. In the video they show you how every letter has a sequence of numbers which helps you to figure out the note.
In the comments there are some helpful advices so you can break the code.

Last classes we played a game in Khan Academy called Cryptography Challenge 101. This challenge is for all ages, it does not assume you have any specialized knowledge. The game starts with a short but catcher story about a mystery bag founded near the streets with important information, so we decided to solve this mystery case. It builds off the ideas presented in Ancient Cryptography. we had to solve four clues written in a secret code using the tools Khan Academy gave to us.
So, you wanna know how to solve this case ? Here we tell you the solutions.

Hello, last classes we have been working with a game on Khan academy. The game consists in solving many a mystery with some clues. But here we are going to tell you only wich problem has each clue and how we can solve the problem.

CLUE #1

The problem is that i found a message that is encripted and it can not be read directly.

That is why i decided to use the Ceaser chiper, get the most used letter and replace it with a. For this we used a Ceaser chiper simulator.

Clue #2

The problem is that we recived another encripted message, but encripted in a different way.

To solve this problem we need to find the key word, and change every letter of the key word for a number in each letter. The numbers must be in the same order, doesn't matter how short or long the word is.

Clue #3

The problem is that you found another peace of paper with an encrypted message in the train rails, but instead of letter it has numbers. The clue is not completed, because it's broken.

To solve the problem you will have to use Visual Telegraph, with shows you how every letter has a sequence of numbers.

Clue #4

The problem is that you found a bag with lots of encrypted messages written in different ways. They have something to do with the first newspaper that you found.

We saw that the encrypted message has something to do with binary numbers. Also the XOR operation was used to construct this code.

Here is a short video about  binary numbers.

Hello, last week we have been working in Khan Academy. The main topic of this project is "cryptography". We are playing a very interesting game. The game is about finding and solving some clues. If you want to solve the clues you have to know the main topic because it is the solution of the problem. You have to learn the main concepts and codes to solve the clues and the game. This game is really fascinating because you have to think a lot how to solve the clue and the problem. Well now we are going to explain some concepts to underestand the game.
